tnAchieves and TN Promise

Updated April 8, 2020:

Community Service Webinars Now Available!

Are you looking for a way to earn community service hours? tnAchieves is working to help students meet this requirement with virtual community service opportunities!

We understand that during this time, students may encounter obstacles finding in-person community service or job shadowing opportunities. tnAchieves has partnered with stakeholders across the state to provide one-hour webinars that will count as one hour of community service for the upcoming July 1 deadline! The webinars focus on subjects relating to careers, professional development and college success. This is a great opportunity to not only earn service hours, but to also gain exposure and insight to a variety of important topics.

Students can visit this page to access the webinars. They will be required to individually log in to the tnAchieves website to view the webinars in order for attendance to be recorded. Students will earn one hour of community service for each session that they watch entirely.

TN Promise Mandatory Team Meeting Update

Good afternoon,

I hope you are all doing well! tnAchieves has extended our TN Promise mandatory webinar deadline to May 15, 2020. Any student whose mandatory meeting was scheduled after March 11, 2020 must watch the 37-minute webinar  by 11:59 PM on May 15, 2020 in order to maintain TN Promise eligibility. Students who missed their assigned meeting prior to March 12, 2020 can view the webinar in order to reinstate TN Promise eligibility. Students will receive a confirmation of webinar completion the day after the student successfully watches the webinar. Please note that students can view the webinar via mobile device. If a student has any questions regarding the webinar, the student can contact tnAchieves directly.

We are still waiting on official notification from the state of Tennessee, but if a student reaches out to you regarding community service, please assure the student that we are working on an alternative to the April 1, 2020 deadline. Official notification should be released later this week. tnAchieves is also mindful of the July 1, 2020 deadline and will continue to monitor closely.

We are grateful for your partnership during this time of transition. Please let me know how tnAchieves can support you and your students. As always, we are available at any time.

Thank you,
Amanda
