Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

Welcome to H.Y. Livesay Middle School and to the Livcsay Eagles’ family!  We take great pride in our school and in all of our accomplishments.  Livesay is expecting a very happy, successful, and prosperous year.

The Livesay Handbook is to be utilized as a tool that parents/guardians and students can refer to as a resource for policies and procedures.  Please read the information carefully.  Please note that the Claiborne County Board of Education has adopted a new Code of Conduct for Students.  Each family will be given a copy, and it can also be found on both the county and school websites.  ALL forms in the handbook MUST be signed and returned within the first week of school.   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school for clarification.

Students succeed at a higher level when parents are involved in their education.  Livesay will have many opportunities for parents to stay informed and to be parents of your child’s education.  We invite you to be part of our wonderful parent organization, “Parents In Action.”

We strongly encourage each student and parent to become familiar with our school website.  We do our best to keep it up-to-date with current happenings and with assignments for each school day for each teacher.  Students who are absent can assess assignments and not be overwhelmed with make-up work. Our website also has contact information for each educator.     http://www.claibornecountyschools.com/livesay

At Livesay, we firmly believe that it takes a village to provide the best education possible to make students independent and successful.  We also believe that learning should be fun!!  We look forward to a rewarding and prosperous year with your support and participation.

Sincerely,

Karyn P. Clark, Principal
