School Climate Surveys Scheduled for Students

Dear Parent/Guardian,

All students in grades 3-12 in the Claiborne County School System are scheduled to take a survey about school climate and learning in school. The survey will be given between the dates of October 23 and November 3, 2017. Data from the surveys will help to create safe and supportive school environments that promote academic success. The survey is voluntary and anonymous. It includes questions about student relationships with teachers, school principals and other students, school safety, bullying, school rules and the school environment.

The survey will be administered online to students and take about 15 minutes to complete.  Students who take the survey may skip any question they do not want to answer, or may stop taking the survey at any time. A staff member will be there if assistance is needed.  This survey is designed to protect your child’s privacy.  Students do not record names on the survey. You may view the survey for your child’s grade level by clicking on a link below.

If you do not wish for your child to participate in the survey, print the School Climate Survey Parent Opt Out Form below, complete the form, and return it to your child’s teacher by NO LATER THAN October 12, 2017. You may contact the principal at your child’s school or Georgia Rush or Rhonda Rowe at the Claiborne County Board of Education at 423-626-3543 with any questions.

Thank you.
